Personality: Mezmu is one of the more trusted death row inmates. She never causes any trouble and when trouble comes looking for her she always manages a way to either get out of trouble or just walk away. She has been on death row since the opening of Deadman Wonderland five years ago. She walks quietly watching all the other inmates. She waits for someone to do something wrong and reports that inmate to the guards. She isn’t just a rat she is a temporary ally to the guards; she hates when an inmate steps over the boundaries or tries to get away with something inappropriate. Plus she is always trying to stay on the good side of the guards; understanding how the guards work is one of her strong points and staying out of their path is another.
She is both an “idea” –person and a “people”-person, who sees everyone and everything as part of an often bizarre cosmic whole. She wants to help the inmates understand how to cope with one another and would love for everyone to like her, but in a world full of hatred it is hard and most of the inmates think of her as a spy for the guards. As she walks quietly not knowing that her branch of sin power is soon to emerge, she seems to be playing something on a piano as her right hand fingers twirl across an invisible keyboard. She is unsure where she picked up this habit but seems to not realize that she is doing it and when asked what she is doing simply questions the question “What do you mean, what am I doing?” She never knows what the person is talking about and would think they are seeing things.
She seems to be bipolar because at times she is intellectual, serious, all professional, but whenever she get the chance; she can flip a switch and become CAPTAIN WILD-CHILD. She goes a little crazy, but never anything too annoying; it’s usually only when she is completely alone or totally bored out of her mind. Which one can never be on Deadman Wonderland since there is always work to be done.{364}[/size]
{Background.}
Fighting Style: Mezmu was never a fighter and to this day is still unsure why she is in Deadman Wonderland. She woke up in this horrible place, feeling so alone and abandoned. She knows that she did not commit any crime and tries everyday to understand what brought her to this place.
She has always avoided confrontations with ease, but recently she has began to explore the possibilities of fighting, wondering if maybe she has only forgot that she was a killer. Maybe she just feels innocent but really is not. She has as of lately had an exploding feeling. As if her blood was trying to escape – This is because she unknowingly has a branch of sin, one that when released will help her fight and hopefully she will learn quickly to defend herself.
Mezmu’s fighting skills will emerge only when she learns to control her branch of sin, dual samurai swords. She fights with slow movements and elegant forms that evoke the feel of flowing water. Her strength is her defensive capabilities, unlike some other fighters, her defensive maneuvers focus on control through turning an opponent’s own strength against him, rather than directly harming the opponent.
She prefers to avoid combat but once she learns that she has a branch of sin and learns to harness it’s power she will begin to understand her true potential. She will train day and night to become the assassin she has wanted to be for a long time.{245}

Branch of Sin Ability: Our bodies contain 6 quarts of blood, which travels nearly 12,000 miles in one day. Mezmu Has yet to figure out that she has a branch of sin and still must learn how to control her power over blood. The only times that there is presence of her sin is when she gets angry. However, she can not control the power so she ends up splashing anyone near-by with dots of blood. She seems to be confused by the actions and severely hurt by the blood loss.
Once she learning to harness the branch of sin she will learn rather quickly that she has the power to do great things. She will most likely use the power to keep inmates in-line and to help the guards keep control --for if the inmates where to ever have control of the park we should have fear for our lives.
When Mezmu is gearing up for a fight her blood runs down her arm from her Radial Arteries ((inner side of the elbows)) and to her palms and she flicks her wrist flinging the blood into the air. The atoms in the blood turn into metal in an instant creating two identical samurai swords. She takes her stance and prepares for a fight.{210}
History:
Early Life at Manticore
Mezmu was born some time in 1997. She was conceived for a secret government program called "Manticore", then located in Mutsu, Aomori. As with almost all Manticore's specimens, Mezmu has a bar-code on the back of her neck, with her identifying number sequence (4565542). She is an X-5 generation and is thus referred to as X5-542. Mezmu Sakurako is the name that she gave to herself. The Manticore program was adding DNA to the children they had conceived by normal women. The X5 generation had feline DNA added to their DNA while they are still a zygote (a cell that is the result of fertilization).
While outwardly indistinguishable from any normal human (except for the bar code on her neck), Mezmu possesses several physical and mental enhancements as a result of Manticore’s projects.
Mezmu and her X-5 "brothers and sisters" were raised and trained by Colonel Donald Michael Lydecker. He trained them to be soldiers using harsh and brutal techniques, described by Mezmu as torture. During their training, Mezmu was the subject of at least one brutal medical experiment involving the re-healing of deliberately shattered limbs. Mezmu also was required to take part in an exercise involving the hunting down and killing of a prisoner, her reaction to which haunts her later in life.
The brutality of the X-5's lives eventually led to escape. In 2002, led by Zack (X5-599) and pursued by Manticore, twelve of the X-5s escaped through a snow-filled forest. Mezmu fell into a frozen pond, and having learned how to hold her breath underwater for long periods of time, managed to outwit the men looking for her. She was eventually found by a sympathetic Manticore nurse who took Mezmu to her house, a move which eventually allowed Mezmu to escape to the world outside.
2002-2016
About a month after Mezmu escaped a massive earthquake plagued Japan. This earthquake desecrated the barracks that Mezmu once lived in killing many people like herself -- which Manticore had been doing research on. Along with the desecration of all the prisons and many other landmarks this earthquake caused create great land upheavals and massive floods that would tear through the capital city of Tokyo. The massive wave of destruction would plunge the country into a place of chaos and anarchy. Over time this anarchy was replaced with a combination of martial law, corruption, and crime.
2010-2018
By the year 2010, Mezmu was living on the outskirts of Japan. She worked as a bicycle messenger for Jam Pony, giving her freedom to travel around the city, and resides as a squatter in an abandoned building, first with Kendra and later with Original Cindy. Mezmu also lives a secret life as a cat burglar, in order to fund the expensive search for her missing brothers and sisters.
It was during one of these attempts that she met a red hued man, the ‘Redman’. She never actually meets this man but has heard much about him so when she saw that Redman had seen her during her crime she run away as fast as she could. While out on another cat burglary she is spotted by Lydecker -- who has been looking for the escaped X-5s since 2002. She was knocked out and brought to a new facility. She is now on Death Row in Deadman Wonderland. The way that Lydecker knocked her out erased her memory and she has no idea how she got to be in Deadman Wonderland.
Life in Deadman Wonderland
After waking up in such a horrible place Mezmu has become accustom to the way things work in DW. She learned to co-exist in a world full of chaos and death. {618}
